Biotechnology Management ProjectEvery week you will be hearing from industry professionals in various sectors, but you will also be applying this education. Each group of students is required to come up with a scientifically-sound, marketable product that they will pitch to a panel of investors. This project allows students to experience what it is like to be an entrepreneur.
Throughout the semester you will learn about intellectual property and how vital it is in biotech ventures. You will learn about finances and the marketability of an idea. You will also realize how important the science behind a biotech product is. The greatest part is that everyone you will work with has a slightly different scientific background, illustrating how important different views can be. No business background? No idea how to determine the amount of product to sell? No idea how to determine a realistic valuation for your company? Well that's the point of this incredible project! There is no way to describe how much you will learn from this team-building task. Ask someone that has completed it and we guarantee they will say the same thing! Check below for some examples of great companies and products that previous students have started from the ground-up! What's really involved?
