You are all part of BtGSS in one way or another. Think of us as a small family that constantly help each other out. It's 100% free as we don't charge any fees to keep the society going. It is the responsibility of the incoming Biotechnology graduate students to continue to grow this society and allow it to evolve.
What we do? BtGSS represents biotechnology graduate students within McGill and externally. The goal of BtGSS is to make the #gradlife of biotech students a memorable experience. For this, we also organize a number of social and networking events including the orientation for the biotechnology graduate students. Additionally, we also organize a privately-funded annual conference called "BioConnect Symposium" which facilitates networking among students and professionals from diverse professional backgrounds to discuss the current development and future direction of cutting-edge research in domains related to biotechnology. For more information on other duties of BtGSS Committee, please contact us.
Never hesitate to ask us or any of your classmates a question. The Biotech graduate program here at McGill is incredibly unique and the people that have the information you need are usually the students! That's what makes this initiative so great.
Abel and Lilian were the Biotechnology cohort representatives! If you ever have an idea on how to make the program better or have a concern about how it's currently run, make sure to give them a shout and they'll be happy to bring it up at the next committee meeting.
